Moss Removal
Moss Removal from Oakcrest Roofing
The damp North West climate suits moss, particularly on north-facing slopes and under trees. A thin layer is mostly cosmetic, but thick moss holds water against tiles, which can make them more prone to frost damage, and it lifts tile edges as it grows. Clumps also wash into gutters and downpipes and block them.
We remove moss by hand, using scrapers and brushes to lift it off the tiles without cracking them. Pressure washing is not used, because it can strip the surface of concrete tiles, force water under the laps and dislodge fixings. Once the moss is off, a biocide treatment is applied to kill the remaining spores and slow regrowth, and the gutters are cleared as part of the job.

Aerial inspections
Drone roof surveys
Our drone roof survey and aerial inspection service provides an instant, efficient and safe way to assess the condition of your roof. Using HD drones, we capture detailed images and videos of hard-to-reach areas, identifying potential issues like leaks, cracks, and structural damage.
This non-invasive method reduces risks and disruption and results in accurate data without the need for roof ladders or expensive scaffolding. Ideal for residential, commercial or industrial properties, this service ensures thorough, cost-effective inspections every time.
We advise that you get your roof professionally surveyed every 2-3 years to keep up with any potential damage and early signs of wear and tear. If we catch minor repairs early, they will not become a more serious problem in the future.
