Roofline Services

Roofline Services from Oakcrest Roofing

The roofline is the band of boards and gutters along the eaves. Fascias carry the gutters and protect the rafter ends, soffits close the underside of the overhang, and guttering and downpipes take rainwater to the drains. When any of these fail, water can run down walls, soak into brickwork and rot the timber at the eaves.

Rotten timber boards are commonly replaced with uPVC, which does not need painting. We remove the old boards, check and repair the rafter feet, fit new fascias and soffits, and add ventilation at the eaves where the loft needs it. New gutters are set to the right fall so water runs to the outlets rather than sitting in them. You get one written quote covering the whole roofline.

Why choose us

Why homeowners choose Oakcrest for roofline services

A written price first

You get an itemised quote before any work starts, so you know what you are paying for and nothing changes once the scaffold is up.

Photos of what we find

We photograph the parts of the roof you cannot see from the ground, so you can judge the problem for yourself rather than take our word for it.

Repair or replace, honestly

If a repair will see the roof through, that is what we quote. When a roof is at the end of its life we tell you, so you can plan instead of paying twice.

Tidy sites, waste removed

Your garden, drive and windows are protected while we work, and every old tile, batten and offcut leaves with us at the end of the job.

Drone roof surveys

Our drone roof survey and aerial inspection service provides an instant, efficient and safe way to assess the condition of your roof. Using HD drones, we capture detailed images and videos of hard-to-reach areas, identifying potential issues like leaks, cracks, and structural damage.

This non-invasive method reduces risks and disruption and results in accurate data without the need for roof ladders or expensive scaffolding. Ideal for residential, commercial or industrial properties, this service ensures thorough, cost-effective inspections every time.

We advise that you get your roof professionally surveyed every 2-3 years to keep up with any potential damage and early signs of wear and tear. If we catch minor repairs early, they will not become a more serious problem in the future.

FAQs

Common questions about roofline services

Should I replace or cap my fascias?

Capping covers old boards with uPVC and can hide rot that carries on underneath. If the timber is sound, capping may be acceptable, but full replacement lets us check and repair the rafter ends.

Do I need soffit vents?

Many lofts need air entering at the eaves to prevent condensation. If your loft has no other ventilation, soffit or over-fascia vents are usually recommended.

Can you replace just the guttering?

Yes. If the fascias are sound we can replace the guttering and downpipes on their own.

What colours are available?

White is most common, but black, brown, grey and woodgrain finishes are widely available in uPVC.
